WHO DOES LUKE HARTSUYKER BELIEVE SHOULD BE PRIME MINISTER?

The people of Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and the Mid-North Coast have the right to know who their local member, Luke Hartsuyker, thinks should be the leader of the Liberal Party and therefore the current Prime Minister.

So Luke, who do you think should be Prime Minister – Malcolm Turnbull or Peter Dutton? Who do you think should lead the Coalition?

As a National Party Member of Parliament, he didn’t get a vote in today’s leadership ballot as it was a ballot for the leadership of the Liberal Party and this in turn elects the Prime Minister in government. He is however a member of the Coalition and we need to understand his position.

Does he support the Coalition going to the dangerous and divisive extreme right under Peter Dutton or does he support the more moderate but hollow and powerless Malcolm Turnbull?

We need to know what we are getting from the National Party. What direction does it believe the Liberals should take. Mr Hartsuyker’s usual “no comment” is not an acceptable answer. The people of the electorate put you there. They deserve to know which direction you want Australia to head under the leader of the Coalition.

The people of Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and the Mid-North Coast deserve better than the serious failure in governing we are getting from the Liberals and Nationals.

There is a huge backlog of things that need fixing and opportunities to be taken advantage of. That’s what government should be focussed on. The Liberals and Nationals are busy talking about themselves. They should be talking about us and our future.

The Liberals and Nationals continue on the political merry-go-round having learned nothing from the last decade in Australian politics. Labor has and today we are more united, cohesive, courageous and policy driven than I have ever seen in my 25 years of party membership.

The Prime Minister should stop the farce and call the election. We are ready to fight this election and bring some stability back to Australian politics with action on employment, environment and fairness.

Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and the Mid-North Coast will be better off with a Labor member in a Labor government.
